29 Lessons from my 29 years.
A birthday reflection on life, energy, home, and becoming the woman I actually want to be.
Turning 29 feels like opening a new door — not in the dramatic, rip-up-your-life way, but in that quiet, steady “I’m finally choosing myself” way.
This past year especially has cracked me open. I’ve shed an identity, stepped into a new path, trusted synchronicities more than logic, and built a home that actually supports me instead of drains me.
Here are the 29 lessons life — and Feng Shui — have taught me so far.
1. Your home is your mirror.
If something feels off inside, your space will show it.
Clutter, chaos, stagnant corners… they’re never just “mess.”
2. Calm is something you create, not something you wait for.
You don’t stumble into peace. You choose it. Over and over again.
3. You’re allowed to want more — even if you already have a good life.
Desire isn’t greed. Desire is direction and a nudge from future you.
4. Decluttering is emotional work disguised as housework.
Every item you let go of frees up space somewhere inside you.
5. Alignment is rarely loud.
It usually whispers. Repeating numbers, a gut feeling, a nudge that doesn’t go away. It’s your job to listen.
6. The universe loves clarity.
The moment you decide, energy shifts to match you.
7. A safe, cosy home can heal you faster than motivation ever will.
Warm lighting, scent, texture, home comfort — these regulate the nervous system more than people realise.
8. Boundaries aren’t walls — they’re filters.
Protect the peace you worked hard to build.
9. Your body always knows before your mind catches up.
When you’re forcing, pushing, performing… your body shows you the bill.
10. Not everyone will understand your path and that’s okay.
Your vision and life path isn’t up for public vote.
11. When you take care of your space, your space takes care of you.
A tidy kitchen = clearer mornings.
A calm bedroom = deeper rest.
A welcoming entrance = better energy flow.
12. Slow mornings are underrated life medicine.
Tea, soft lighting, rituals like reading before screens… they anchor your entire day.
13. Yin energy is not weakness — it’s wisdom.
Softness is a superpower.
Stillness is strategy.
It takes practice to sit in silence, but it’ll give you the clarity you need.
14. Rest is productive.
Burnout teaches you this the hard way.
I learnt it the hard way.
15. You can’t heal in a home that constantly overwhelms you.
Small shifts make big energetic differences. Start in the place that see’s all of you.
16. The right path feels like relief.
Not ease, not perfection — relief.
17. It’s okay if some dreams expire.
Letting go creates space for the ones that fit who you’re becoming.
It’s not failure to change paths.
18. Rituals > routines.
Rituals pull you back into yourself.
Routines pull you into autopilot.
19. You’re allowed to reinvent yourself at any age.
Careers, identities, aesthetics — nothing is fixed.
The only constant in life, is that change is inevitable.
20. Feng Shui isn’t interior design — it’s self-respect.
It’s saying: “I deserve a home that supports me, not sabotages me.”
21. Things fall apart right before they fall together.
Confusion is often the doorway to clarity. It’s uncomfortable but you can handle it.
22. Your environment can amplify who you are or suppress it.
Be intentional with what and who you surround yourself with.
You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
Your home is your 3D vision board - what does it represent?
23. The entrance of your home matters more than any throw cushion.
Energy enters where you enter.
Keep it clear, grounded, and welcoming.
24. People treat you better when you treat yourself better.
If you put yourself at the bottom of the priority list, so will others.
Energy doesn’t lie, raise your vibration.
25. Let yourself be seen — it’s safer than hiding.
Vulnerability is magnetic, not risky.
26. Beauty is functional.
Beautiful spaces make everyday life easier, not harder.
And beauty is individual to us all.
27. If something drains you, it’s already costing too much.
Plans, relationships, habits, decor, commitments - they all require energy.
You get to choose how to refill your energy. And it’s not selfish whatever you choose.
28. Celebrate small wins like they’re big ones.
They’re the ones that actually shift your trajectory.
29. Your home, your energy, and your life get better the moment you decide you’re worthy of better.
Everything starts with that decision.
A note from 29 year old me to you x
I’m stepping into this year feeling more aligned than I’ve ever been.
More grounded.
More certain.
More myself.
And if there’s one thing I’ve learnt, it’s this:
You are the energy of your home.
And when you honour that — when you soften, clear space, choose intention, and build a life that feels like that first bite of cake — everything else starts flowing.
Here’s to a year of deeper peace, bolder choices, aligned homes, and women who decide they’re worthy of a life that younger them dreamed off.
