Why you're finally seeing signs and it has nothing to do with the universe..

My whole journey into Feng Shui started with an angel number.

I kept seeing 777, three times within about 36 hours of hearing a talk on Feng Shui that had completely stopped me in my tracks. And at the time I took it as a sign from the universe that I was being guided somewhere new. I still believe that. But recently something shifted in how I understand what was actually happening in those moments, and it has completely changed the way I talk about signs, synchronicities, and what it actually means when they show up in your life.

Because recently, in the middle of a really intentional season of personal reflection, I started seeing 222 and 777 again. Numbers I hadn't noticed in a while, suddenly everywhere. On my phone, on receipts, on the clock at the exact moment I looked up.

And my first instinct, like it always has been, was to think the universe is speaking to me. Things are aligning. I'm being guided.

But then I had a different thought. One I couldn't shake.

What if the numbers weren't new? What if they'd been there all along, and I just couldn't see them until now?

Here is where it gets really interesting, and where the science comes in.

Your brain receives roughly eleven million bits of information every single second. Eleven million. And yet consciously, you can only process about forty of them. So your brain has to make constant decisions about what to show you and what to filter out, otherwise you would be completely overwhelmed before you had even gotten out of bed.

The part of your brain responsible for that filtering is called the reticular activating system, or the RAS. Its job is to decide what's important enough to bring to your conscious attention, based on two things: what you have emotionally activated, and what your nervous system has the capacity to process.

This is why when you buy a new car, you suddenly see that car everywhere. They were always there. The RAS just didn't flag them as relevant before. This is why when you're going through something difficult, you notice songs that speak to exactly how you're feeling. This is why when you set an intention, you start seeing evidence of it in places you would previously have walked straight past.

The signs don't multiply or suddenly appear. Your awareness of them does.

And here is the part I couldn't stop thinking about once I understood it.

Your RAS can only show you what your nervous system has the capacity to receive. When you are stressed, overwhelmed, in survival mode, your awareness narrows. Your brain is too busy scanning for threat to notice patterns, nudges, synchronicities. You are not available for signs because your system is fully occupied keeping you safe.

But when your nervous system feels regulated, when your body feels settled and supported and safe, your awareness expands. You start connecting dots. You notice things. You feel like life is conspiring in your favour because in a very real, physiological sense, you have finally got the bandwidth to see it.

And here is what that regulated state actually feels like when you are living in it. It is not dramatic. It is not a sudden lightning bolt of clarity. It is more subtle than that.

It is making a decision and not second-guessing it for three days afterwards. It is waking up in the morning and knowing what you want to do with your day rather than lying there feeling vaguely overwhelmed before you have even gotten up. It is having a conversation and being able to say what you actually think rather than what you think the other person wants to hear. It is ideas arriving when you are in the shower or on a walk rather than sitting at your desk forcing them. It is trusting the quiet voice rather than overriding it with logic every single time.

That is what nervous system regulation gives you. Not perfection. Not a life without hard days. But access to yourself.

And when you have access to yourself, you start noticing things. Patterns. Nudges. Moments that feel like they mean something. Because your brain finally has the bandwidth to show them to you.

I want to talk about pink flamingos for a second, because I think it illustrates this in a way that goes beyond angel numbers.

There is this idea that when you are trying to make a decision, sitting with something and waiting for clarity, you can ask for a sign in the form of something specific and unusual. Something you would not normally see. And the classic example is a pink flamingo.

I know how that sounds. But stay with me.

Because what I find so fascinating about this isn't whether the flamingo mysteriously appears. It is what happens in the moment you see it. You do not get your answer from the flamingo. You already know what the flamingo means before it has even fully registered. The decision was already forming inside you. The flamingo just brings your attention back to it. It confirms what you already felt.

That is not delusion or magic. That is self-trust forming.

Signs, whether they are angel numbers or flamingos or a song that comes on at exactly the right moment, do not tell you what to do. They validate what you already feel. They bring your attention back to what matters. And you can only experience that when your nervous system is regulated enough to be present. When you are not in survival mode. When you have the internal space to listen.

Which is why the state of your home matters so much more than most people realise.

Because what does a balanced home actually do? At its core, it creates an environment where your nervous system can regulate. Where your body does not have to stay on low-level alert. Where you can walk through the door at the end of the day and actually exhale.

And when that happens consistently, when your home is supporting your nervous system rather than quietly dysregulating it, something opens up. Your awareness expands. Your intuition gets louder. You start noticing things you had been missing.

Feng Shui does not help you manifest signs. What it does is create the internal safety and clarity that allows you to recognise the signs that were always already around you.

When I think back to when I first saw 777, I was in a season of real openness. I had been doing a lot of personal development work, I was genuinely curious, I was in a space of possibility rather than panic. My nervous system, looking back, was more regulated than it had been in years. And I saw the sign. And it changed the direction of my life.

And now, coming through a really intentional period of reflection about who I am becoming, with nine months of Feng Shui remedies implemented in my home, I am seeing 222 and 777 again. Not because the universe suddenly remembered I existed. But because I have done the work to get quiet enough to notice.

A balanced home does not just make your space feel nicer. It makes you available, for clarity, for intuition, for the signs that were always there waiting for you to have the bandwidth to see them.

So here is the question I want you to sit with:

When did you last feel like signs were showing up for you? When did life last feel like it was speaking to you in that way, like things were aligning, like you were being guided? And what was the state of your home and your nervous system in that season?

Because I would be willing to bet there is a connection there.

If things have felt quiet recently, if the signs have dried up, if life feels more like pushing than flowing, it might not be that the universe has gone silent. It might be that your system is too overwhelmed to hear it.

And that is something your home can actually help with.

The best place to start is the free Nervous System Home Audit, an eleven page guide that walks you through your home and helps you notice how each space is actually making your body feel. Download it and walk through your home with fresh eyes, because I think after reading this it will land in a completely different way.

And if you walk through your home and realise the energy needs more than just a tweak, that is exactly what a Soul Aligned Home Analysis is for. A full personalised reading of your specific home, looking at what is happening energetically in each area and why it is showing up the way it is in your life.

But start with the audit. Notice what your home is telling you.

Because sometimes that noticing is the sign you have been waiting for.
